1. ABOUT US

Fain represents everything that is energy, competitiveness and fun loving.

There is a continuous drive to extract the 'Wow' response factor from ardent 'supporters' who subscribe fanatically to the label.

Fain's signature apparel appeals to a wide range of devotees who eagerly embrace the label for its quality, innovation, design and keeping abreast of world trends. Anywhere from 15-to-life is within our range. In its creation, the apparel is a spontaneous mix of emotion and vibe with no boundaries, often pushing design to the edge.

Fain has a free spirited approach and is the embodiment of carefree lifestyle yet adopts a 'take-me-serious' slant which creates room for the less adventurous to be trawled into the Fain net.

Fain clothing is a definitive blur between sportswear and leisurewear creating an identity crisis for the average sports enthusiast when geared up losing him or herself on an Olympic track or a world cup soccer field and when reality strikes, still feels good being covered in Fain.

So, recruitment time guys…wear it, swear by it

Fain is a sports and leisurewear apparel brand based in Port Elizabeth, on the East Coast of South Africa. The FAIN label is a homegrown, 100% South African brand and was created in 1986.

The FAIN label has over the years steadily gained recognition as a brand that provides apparel that is fresh and different. The target market is the young adolescent to the more mature sports enthusiast. The type of product being produced is very much part of today's wear and move towards lighter, more comfortable clothing.

2. SINCE 1986…

The label was started in 1986 by Ismail (Miley) Ajam. As an ardent sports enthusiast he saw the opportunity in the market place for something different and set about the manufacturing the label. Initial orders were one off garments made for individuals and sporting clubs, etc. soon followed. The initial market was mostly the so-called coloured sector with special emphasis on soccer kit. That market has stayed loyal to the label and today has an ever-greater following.

Over the years the demand for the product has increased and orders have been received from throughout South Africa and also Namibia. The growth in the label and the company resulted in Miley being awarded the National Emerging Entrepreneur award in 1989 by the South African Institute of Marketing. He was then subsequently also selected to attend a United States Government sponsored business training program (USALEP) in the U.S.A. in 1992. The label has now matured into a well-accepted brand with customers from all sectors of the population.
